Gender  equality and students interests

Promotion of innovative teaching methosds at school

School related applications and student-friendly lessons

Concrete results we would like to produce are:

- Evaluation, comparison of the usage of mobile phones

- Photo stories: Me and my smart phone

- Comics about the usage of smartphones

- QR codes linked to sights in the respective hometown: Students chose sights, describe them and develop a QR code for each chosen sight. In the course of development of the QR codes students collaborate with their town council and tourist office. Afterwards the QR codes will be published locally.

- Virtual city tours

- Development of a new application (eg. for a more convenient exchange of project-related results via mobile phones) including a manual about the construction of such an app.

- Intercultural quiz: role play about cultural differences, filmed by smartphones

- Evaluation of learning applications on the internet

- Additionally the students of each country are expected to plan a lesson for one subject including mobile phones and the newly developed application. In the following the lessons will be performed and the results will be evaluated.

Before the first meeting:

- Teams of ca. 20 students will be established in the respective countries.

- Distribution of tasks to the respective partner schools

- Establishing of a Twinspace by the Austrian partner

- Students and teachers upload their profile on Twinspace.

- Research about the partner schools

- Creating a logo for the project (each country works out a suggestion, choice on Twinspace)

- Research and exchange about the usage of smartphones/ evaluation/ sensibilisation

Before the second meeting:

- Creating a photo story about the topic Me and my smartphone

- Information about the use of QR codes (Visiting museums, sights etc.)

Before the third meeting:

- Choice of 5  10 sights at each home place/ visiting them/ talking to administration/ tourist office/

- creating a QR code for the respective sight/ upload the code on Twinspace

Before the fourth meeting:

- Research about the construction of applications/ aquisition of competences for the construction of apps

- The Austrian team establishes an application for the project work.

Before the fifth meeting:

- Group work about different subjects: What kind of learning apps can be found on the internet and how do they work? (in the respective mother tongues and in English)

After the fifth meeting:

- The students construct a lesson in English for the subject chosen at the fifth meeting using the learning apps they have evaluated. The results will be uploaded on Twinspace and on the new application. All partners test the lesson, film important scenes by smartphone and evaluate their results by the evaluation sheet which has been worked out on the fifth meeting. All results will be published on Twinspace and on the new app.

The most important milestones are:

13-16 years old students that are enthusisatic about technology and science and language teachers who are working in a team, meeting regularly and working on the subjects

- we are striving for the same number of boys and girls in the project. (Equality of genders). Many girls use their mobiles for socializing. This project aims in awaking their interest in technology and ICT, too.

- students who frequently use their mobile phones but know little about further applications.

- students from families whose social background does not allow them to travel to other countries

The German School is the coordinator of the project and will stay in touch with the other schools first by mails and whatsapp and after beginning the project by eTwinning and at the end with the new app as well.

The Austrian partner will install the eTwinning platform and will take over the responsibility for the technical ICT part.

The Spanish partner will take care of the evaluation of the project during the whole time.

The Portuguese partner will check out the results on Twinspace during the whole project.

The Romanian partner will evaluate the implimentation in the different schools after the end of the project.
